Hello everyone,

I wanted to suggest a site for you to check out and practice listening. It's BBC Learning English.

In particular, it should help you identify the kind of language uses when people are disagreeing with one another and/or having a discussion.

"Having a discussion" in English is NOT something bad, don't confuse it with Spanish. It is an exchange of ideas.

The language suggested here should also help you with the arguements you want to use for your debate topic.

Essay #3

Hello everyone,

hope this week will be a good one for you, as busy as it's getting.
Take a look at the 3rd worksheet to give you an idea about two possible ways to do your last essay. I suggest writing either a "problem-solution essay" , or an "observational essay" There are links on the worksheet to two sites about how to do them.

New York Times subscription

Hey everyone,

I've just subscribed to the NYT for free and everyday I get a news summary in my mailbox. I would highly recommend it. There are articles on all sorts of things, poilitics, local news, opinion, arts, food, etc. It will certainly help you improve your English!

Give it a try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Think about what you usually do when you have to turn in a writing assignment.

• What do you do first?
• How do you know organize your ideas?
• How do develop your ideas?
